Beckham, a golden doddle, is our mascot. He is loving, caring, and always has a smile on his face, just like the entire Destination Mitzvah Team. While it is rare that you will see him at a Destination Mitzvah, you may hear him say "hello" when you call our office.

The Destination Mitzvah Team of Clergy is comprised of Cantors and Rabbis of Reform, Conservative and even a Modern Orthodox background. Some of our clergy still have a "pulpit" at a Synagogue. But all of our clergy believe in this unique experience; an experience that is focused on friends, family, and especially the Bar or Bat Mitzvah child or Wedding Couple. Just like the entire Destination Mitzvah Team, our clergy take great pride in being apart of each Destination Mitzvah and take the time to build relationships in order get to know each Bar or Bat Mitzvah child and Wedding Couple. For Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, they are determined to make the entire experience, especially the teaching of Torah, Haftorah, and prayers, stress-free and enjoyable. They value the bond that they establish with the child and love seeing the smiles on their face during their Destination Mitzvah. For Destination Mitzvah Weddings, we are even happy to "bring the Synagogue" including Torah and lead an additional service such as a Shabbat or Havdallah Service if you desire.
Deborah and Sheldon Gross, parents of Evan, joined the Destination Mitzvah Team in our Guest concierge department to offer their guidance and suggestions. At Destination Mitzvah we believe that your friends and family in attendance should have a exceptional travel experience. For this reason, we provide concierge services which handle personal requests such as bedding arrangements or dietary restrictions. These concierge services provides that extra special touch to make your Guests experience that much more enjoyable. Deborah and Sheldon have extensive travel experience and are happy to share their suggestions with the Destination Mitzvah "Family."
Marissa Nemes, born in Montreal, fell in love with Evan in 2003. Marissa and Evan married in 2008 and Marissa soon there after also fell in love with the concept of Mitzvah At Sea and Destination Mitzvah. Marissa has been instrumental in using her travel experience and keen eye for design to help make Mitzvah At Sea and Destination Mitzvah successful and A+ rated by the BBB. Marissa loves having the Bar or Bat Mitzvah or Wedding in a scenic location. But most importantly, she loves having family come together for this special time. Especially since Marissa comes from a family of seven, she, just like Evan, values the bonding that occurs during a Destination Mitzvah.
Evan Gross, born and raised in Philadelphia, found Mitzvah At Sea and Destination Mitzvah in 2010. Having reflected on his own Bar Mitzvah and Wedding, and with more than 16 years experience in travel, tourism, and hospitality, he had a vision to bring a family and their friends together for an extended period of time to celebrate this special time in one's life. He had a vision to make the experience different than the typical synagogue service and party. He had vision to be able to have a service in a beautiful and unique location. He had a vision to have a celebration but also to have group activities such as beach Olympics and beach volleyball which bonds and unites family and friends. He had a vision to make the entire process from planning to the actual Bar or Bat Mitzvah or Wedding, stress-free, simplified, and spectacular. Using his extensive travel experience and direct contacts with cruise lines, hotels, resorts, and unique destination, Evan established relationships and built a team which shares in his philosophy and vision. Evan is happy to speak with any family and often attends Destination Mitzvahs!

From our travel consultants who helps you select the ideal cruise, all inclusive resort, or destination, to our event planners who helps you select the ideal location for the ceremony and celebration, and to our clergy who teaches your son or daughter Torah, Haftorah, and prayers for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah, our team works in unison and is focused on you, your family and your guests. Throughout the entire process, we are with you every step off the way to make this a stress-free and enjoyable experience. The Destination Mitzvah Event Planner and Rabbi or Cantor who is intimate with your Bar or Bat Mitzvah or Wedding ceremony, celebration, and group activities, is there, at the Destination Mitzvah to implement as planned. This enables you to focus on bonding and celebrating with your friends and family, and creating beautiful memories that will forever be remembered.
